Finishing

Lay out pieces on top of black background fabric

Baste around the edges close to the edge

Turn down about 2” on the pocket fabric -or- use a scallop stitch to decorate edge Place right sides down on top of basted piece

Trim about 1” off the other backing piece Lay on top of other pieces as shown

Pin and sew a ½” seam all the way around from the black side, making sure to catch all layers.

Trim to ¼” and trim corners

Turn inside out once as shown Place a 7-1/2” square of batting inside as shown and smooth out

Turn inside out one more time and poke the corners out. We’ll make holes to turn this into a notebook later.
