Construction site plan VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop VIA University College TCU-VIA Workshop JMOG 1

Construction site plan VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop Agenda What is a construction site plan? What is needed on the siteplan? Examples Example - New shoppingcenter Continuing the construction site plan And more important information Assignment and test Assignment - What to do and how to do it Examples from earlier VIA University College TCU-VIA Workshop 2

Why will they use the construction site plan? What is a construction site plan? VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop Purpose of a plan? Who will use this plan? Why will they use the construction site plan? When do we use the construction site plan? Who will keep the plan(s) updated? VIA University College TCU-VIA Workshop 3

What is needed on the siteplan? VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop What do you think should be on the construction site plan for our project? 1 – Site managers wagon 2 - Canteen 3 – Bathroom/toilet 4 - Water 5 -Storeroom 6 - Sewer 7 – Power – how many Amp? 8 – Fire/first aid control center 9 - Dormitory 10 - VIA University College TCU-VIA Workshop 4

What is needed on the siteplan? VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop Know the area where to build. Visit the place. Go there. Drive there… When visiting the site, investigate: Different heights at the ground (can the machines drive there?) Waterholes (do we need to empty it first?) Trees, bushes on the site? Old houses on the site? Ancient monuments? Rare animal spices? Soil density, contamination, former use of the ground? How to secure the area from public (safety/theft/secret)? Others things? Basic for the construction site plan Access to water Infra structure, roads and entrance Space to work and deliver materials Water, electricity and sewers Maybe neighbors if the building is close to them VIA University College TCU-VIA Workshop 5

Continuing the construction site plan VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop What kind of information should be in the construction site plan? The level of informations? High/low/many/few? The minimum demands for the plan? Who will use the construction site plan: The building owner The contractor The different trades The neighbors The fire department The authorities Others….who Or a mix from above? VIA University College TCU-VIA Workshop 15

And more important information VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop VIA University College TCU-VIA Workshop 16

Assignment and test VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop Each group will make 1 poster with 2 pcs. A3 size showing information about: Safety on the site (A3 size) Organizations chart for project (A4 size) Construction site plan (A4 size) The poster should fit the contractors needs of information including safety. The construction site plans are to be hung on the wall and disgusted with all groups in the class to past the test. VIA University College TCU-VIA Workshop 17

Assignment and test VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop Safety on the site (A4 size) This plan explains what rules is to be followed on the site for all working people. Usually explained in a list (and maybe with pictures). Organizations chart for project (A4 size) This chart explains who is in charge for the different parts of the project. Usually explained with a chart with names and phone numbers. Construction site plan (A4 size) This plan/drawing explains where things are located on the site according to what is needed in the specific project. VIA University College TCU-VIA Workshop 18
