Background: study Scope of the study: PBDEs, PFOS and PeCB (1st phase) SCCP, HBCD, PCP, HCBD and PCN (2nd phase) Aim: Provide data for setting limit values for the POPs Timeline: First part of Report on PBDEs, PFOS and PeCB has been discussed with MS on 27 Sep Revised version has been sent to MS and stakeholders: http://ec.europa.eu/environment/waste/studies/pdf/pops_report.pdf MS invited to formulate comments

Summary of results of the study 2 options proposed by consultant (see next slide): Option 1 with restrictive limit values Option 2 with less restrictive limit values and review clause Feedback from stakeholders is important to complete information about possible impacts of limit values on recycling (ELV, WEEE) Currently (13.12.10) there are no well-founded indications that proposed Option 1 would have an impact on industry MS are also invited to formulate comments – the sooner, the better!
