CAS – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday rileym@madisonnjps.org TJS – Monday, Tuesday CAS – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday CAS/TJS Band Website I am very excited to be joining the music department and filling in for Mrs. Adkins on maternity leave. I am a graduate of the music program here in Madison (I started at TJS!) so it has been a wonderful to return as a teacher. We had a wonderful Winter Concert last week with our 5th graders and 4th graders from the summer music program. We will be starting to prepare for our Spring Concert when we return from break. We will also be starting up our Beginning Band and are excited for our 4th graders to start their morning band rehearsals. Before school band rehearsal start up again the week after we return from break (January 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th). Have a lovely break!

For more information visit the link listed below: Consider joining or wonderful parent and community organization, the Madison Music and Arts Association. They are responsible for organizing wonderful events such as Megapalooza, Dessert and Jazz, and the Arts Matter Concert, as well as supporting us with grants for musical instruments and equipment for our classrooms. For more information visit the link listed below: https://www.madisonpublicschools.org/domain/71 Each week students take home their instrument and their practice chart, on which they log their practice time. Make sure you check and sign it before they bring it to their next lesson 1st year students practice 60 minutes a week, 2nd year student practice 90 minutes a week Do not leave your instrument in a car or garage, keep it in a warm place Oil, polish and clean your instrument at least once per week If anything seems wrong with your instrument, bring it to Miss Riley or take it to one of the suggested music stores to get it fixed as soon as possible If you need to order an instrument, music book, or any care and cleaning supplies contact one of our vendors below: Elefante Music, 908-464-5928, www.elefantemusic.com The Music Shop, 800-553-0633 Items can be picked up at the stores or delivered to the school.
