History/Structure of Atoms
Ancient Greeks Thought all matter was made of the four elements: Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water.
Dalton Dalton proposed the theory that all matter is made up of individual particles called atoms, which cannot be divided.
A model was designed and had the shape of a solid ball. Dalton’s Theory Cont. A model was designed and had the shape of a solid ball.
Thompson’s Theory Through experimentation was able to find that the atom was made of even smaller particles.
Rutherford’s Atomic Theory Idea that there was a concentration of positive particles at the center of an atom. Gold foil experiment proved theory.
