+ TXLIHIS Joins Efforts with TOP Blue tarps in Houston were an all too familiar sight several years after Hurricane Ike. After a two year campaign led by low income homeowners from Houstons hardest hit neighborhoods, TOP secured an agreement with Mayor Parker that will dedicate $150 million of Federal Hurricane Ike Recovery Funds to address housing & infrastructure issues within historically underserved communities. HCDD invites developers to produce quality true mixed income units in underserved communities and commit to community engagement. Will provide a high quality of life and avoid the negative results of gentrification by preserving the community and creating high quality affordable housing in these locations.

+ Infrastructure TOP PROPOSES: PWE identify new projects, directly addressing issues of flooding and pedestrian access, within the CRAs that came as a result of the Spring 2013 planning study.
