How is one crucified with Christ? Romans 6:3-5, 17-18
What happens when one is crucified with Christ? When Jesus was crucified, He died (Jn. 19:16-18; 30-34) When one is crucified with Christ he dies: To sin (Rom. 6:6) To self (Phil. 3:7)
What happens after one is crucified with Christ? After Jesus died and was buried, He arose to a new life (Rom. 6:9) After one dies and is buried (in baptism), he arises to a new life (Gal. 2:20; Rom. 6:4, 11)
A union with Christ is created “Christ liveth in me” (Gal. 2:20) By faith (ibid; 2 Cor. 5:7) By becoming like Him (Lk. 6:40) He is my life (Phil. 1:21)
Why should I be crucified withChrist? To be free from sin (Rom. 6:17-18) To live with Him (Rom. 6:8) Because He loved us (Gal. 2:20; 2 Cor. 5:14-15)
