You be the Judge! Thousands judged the gospel true, believed it, and obeyed, 4:4 (2:41, 47) Jewish leaders judged the miracle true, but the apostles and the gospel as a threat – so they rejected it by making threats Apostles judged it to be right to preach the gospel under threat
Review Of Acts 4 SUMMARIZE: – Peter and John are arrested for preaching but still the number of disciples grows to 5,000 men. (cf. 2:41 – “3,000 souls”) – Peter and John are accused before the Jewish court but continue to proclaim Jesus’ salvation. – The court privately acknowledges the miracle but tells Peter and John to preach no more; they refuse to comply. – Peter and John return to the other apostles, they all pray about the matter, and the Holy Spirit comes upon all. – The apostles exhort the rest of the brethren; distribution of money is made to all the brethren that had need. – Joseph makes a donation of money.
