Integrated Security Service Lisa DeBellis – ISS Project Manager Matt Blazevich – Solutions Consultant

Integrated Security Service The Integrated Security Service (ISS) provides a centrally managed surveillance camera video recording, storage and retrieval system for the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh campus. This service is managed by the CMU Police Department in cooperation with Computing Services and Facilities Management and Campus Services.

Mission and Purpose Mission Statement: Integrated Security Service is a central strategic program that defines, implements and oversees video security practices of the university utilizing advanced technology to enhance the prevention of crime, apprehension of offenders, and ensure the safety and security of Carnegie Mellon University. Purpose: Deliver and maintain a strategic security service to the university Enhance campus safety capabilities Deter crime Mitigate university risk Modernize institutional security practices

Integrated Security Service – Who We Are Chief Tom Ogden – ISS Service Owner Sgt. Nello Bruno – Security Assessments Lisa DeBellis – ISS Project Manager Fred Hubbard – ISS VMS Application Administrator Computing Services – Strategic Support, Infrastructure and App Support Services FMCS – Strategic Support and Guidance

Postal Services - Carnegie Mellon One Address 30% of all incoming letter and package mail for CMU faculty and departments is received by Postal Services with incorrect addresses! Sent to street address of office location (ex. 317 S. Craig St., or 4721 Fifth Ave…) OR, has the correct address (5000 Forbes Ave.), but no department or recipient name.

Carnegie Mellon One Address What happens to incorrectly addressed mail? Because USPS Address Management Systems (AMS) database does not list individual addresses owned or occupied by Carnegie Mellon, mail may be returned to sender by USPS before CMU Postal Services even sees it. OR, USPS may send the mail piece through a ‘re-work’ process (mail purgatory), where it could take two weeks or more to resolve.

Carnegie Mellon One Address What happens when incorrectly addressed mail does reach CMU Postal Services? We make our best guess as to the intended recipient and attempt to deliver the mail (the Karnak the Great method). Adds workhours and cost to our process. Slows processing and delivery of mail addressed to CMU departments. DECREASES CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!

Carnegie Mellon One Address How you can help. Please help us by ensuring that all of the departments in facilities that you are responsible for use ONLY this addressing convention for all correspondence: Recipient Name Department Name, Building Abbreviation, Room # 5000 Forbes Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15213-3815

Postal Services - Carnegie Mellon One Address Questions? For more information, you can visit https://www.cmu.edu/postoffice/

Time for a Celebration!   Please join us as we celebrate Marty Altschul’s Contributions to Carnegie Mellon University The celebration will be held immediately following this Meeting in the Danforth Lounge from 2PM – 4PM. “Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” - Andrew Carnegie
