Power Lunch Your path to success at cvhs

Purpose A 64 minute block when students, faculty, and staff are available to collaborate, remediate, and interact. Students will use this time to engage in Cleveland High School and the many opportunities provided in a meaningful way to impact their own individual successes.

In Detail Power Lunch provides time during the school day for students to get the additional help they may need to be successful with their coursework. Students may use this time to make up missed assignments, meet with counselors, increase extracurricular participation through clubs and intramurals, and build stronger relationships with staff members.

How It Works A bell will ring for lunch. You will have 5 minutes to be in a location for A lunch. Then the lunch tardy bell rings and you stay in your location for the remainder of A lunch. If you need to move during A lunch or B lunch, you need a blue pass from a teacher. A bell will ring for B lunch. You may transition to your next location.

Students with a C in a class must attend one tutorial within the next three weeks. Students with a D/F in a class must attend one tutorial each week.

Tutorial Requirements In addition to required tutorials, teachers may assign a tutorial appointment. These will be within the regular tutorial schedule for that teacher’s class. Not attending an assigned tutorial appointment could result in disciplinary consequences.

Students have to attend tutorials every week if their grade is a D/F in a class. Students may eat lunch in the gym. Students may eat in teacher classrooms that are open for all. Students may sit in the stairwells during lunch. Students need a blue note to move to a different part of the building after the bell rings.
