Age of Colonization Vocabulary Analysis Cape of Good Hope-A former province of the Republic of South Africa; the point of land at the southern end of the Cape Peninsula, South Africa. Plantation-A large farm where cash crops are grown. Olaudah Equiano-An anti-slavery activist who wrote on account of his enslavement. Colonize-To settle in an area and take control of its government. Nationalism-A feeling of pride in one’s homeland; a group’s identity as members of a nation. Culture-The way of life of people who share similar customs and beliefs. Racism-The belief that one race is superior to another. Imperialism-The control by one country of another through economic, political or military means. Cash Crops-Crops grown for sale or export.
