What have we been up too this last year? Facilitated a discussion with educators, service providers, faith based organizations and businesses to address hunger in our community. As a result of this discussion so far: Tyson provided a grant to add two mobile pantries once a month in Pettis County. MU Extension began providing education to patrons of Open Door, Sedalia Senior Center, and Mobile Pantry. OATS adjusted County public transportation to better meet the needs of people seeking food from service organizations in Pettis County. Provided seed money to organization interested in addressing readiness to enter school, economic stability and 3rd grade reading levels. Developed a Volunteer Center using United Way of Greater St. Louis software and brains of Smith-Cotton high school students. www.spcuw.org and click Volunteer. Building Community Relationships through Campaign to support 18 service providers in Pettis County and helping facilitate communication and collaboration among partners.

What have we been up too this last year? Transforming our fund distribution to focus on outcomes Coordinated Entry to End Homelessness We paired the MO 211 United Way system with the MO Coordinated Entry system Hosting trainings in Pettis County to secure community partners for the Coordinated Entry system Member of the Statewide initiative to promote communitywide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness Advocate for Pillars of Pettis County, organization trying to establishing a Outcome Based Shelter 2018 Day of Caring-587 volunteers accomplishing 3 projects on September 29, 2018: Install 16 Tiny Food Pantries and Lending Libraries throughout Pettis County Neighborhood Cleanup Begin the renovation for a adolescent female homeless shelter

Why we are doing what we are doing? The United Way of Pettis County is uniquely positioned to identify big community issues and harness both providers and business leaders to address them.

Why Support Continued? 100% of gifts are invested locally United Way of Pettis County brings together donors, community leaders and service providers to tackle big issues together. There is strength in numbers and a variety of experiences. Improving the community in which you live and/or work. You can designate your dollars. Even if you want your gift to be designated outside of Pettis County, this is a benefit to pledging to the United Way. Payroll Deduction-$1.00 or $2.00 per pay period collectively makes a huge impact. A lot easier to give this amount per pay period versus trying to give one lump sum.

What progress have we made?
