To measure distances, click on the ruler symbol at the top of the screen. You can then measure a straight line distance or a path and change the units of measurement using the ruler menu. By the way, if you want to know what a ‘Smoot’ is, then look it up on Wikipedia !!!

If you have time, click on any of the villages and then click on ‘Download Additional Information’. This will add on additional layers including photos, videos and testimony as well as refugee figures. You could explore some of these to enhance your understanding of the Darfur refugee crisis.
