FSH receptor, KL1/2, P450, and PAPP genes in granulosa-lutein cells from in vitro fertilization patients show a different expression pattern depending on the infertility diagnosis  Rebeca González-Fernández, M.Sc., Óscar Peña, M.Sc., Jairo Hernández, Ph.D., Pablo Martín-Vasallo, M.D., Ph.D., Angela Palumbo, M.D., Ph.D., Julio Ávila, Ph.D.  Fertility and Sterility  Volume 94, Issue 1, Pages 99-104 (June 2010) DOI: 10.1016/j.fertnstert.2009.02.074 Copyright © 2010 American Society for Reproductive Medicine Terms and Conditions

Figure 1 This figure depicts the most significant correlations found in the different diagnostic groups among KL1, KL2, FSHR, PAPP, and P450 genes. (A) No ovarian factor. (B) KL1/FSHR and KL2/P450 correlations in patients with poor ovary reserve (PR), endometriosis (EM), and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). (C) Correlation of FSHR with KL1 and KL2 genes expression in women who conceived and women who did not conceive during the IVF cycle studied. Pearson coefficient and significance values are expressed in every panel. Figure 2 Proposed feedback circuit for bone morphogenetic protein 15 (BMP-15) and Kit ligand (KL) system in human granulosa-lutein cells. Oocyte-derived BMP-15 promotes KL expression. High KL expression inhibits BMP-15 by feedback. BMP-15 also down-regulates FSH receptor (FSHR) expression, and, consequently, FSH-regulated genes pregnancy-associated plasma protein (PAPP) and P450 are also down-regulated.
