DEFECTS found during 2013-2014 annual school bus inspections (thru March 24)

Employed by N.C. Department of Public Instruction N.C. STATE INSPECTORS Randy Henson Keith Whitley Robert Taylor Employed by N.C. Department of Public Instruction

State inspectors check 10% of the fleet each year. (October-June) The inspection is based on rules in the NC 30 Day Inspection Manual developed by committee consisting of Transportation Directors, Shop Foremen, Bus Inspectors, Bus Technicians.

Repair brake lights (1-3 bulbs) 61 occurrences 5-15 pts.

Seat Cushion and Foam damage- 71 occurrences 10 pts.

Window/Roof hatch buzzers Inoperable-75 5 pts.

Spill kit & First Aid kit not secured - 78 3 pts.

Differential vent Dirty 89 times. 5 pts.

Heater Filter Dirty-104 occurrences 5 pts.

Engine oil leaks 118 found 10 pts.

Loose seat bottoms,1-4 147 found 5 pts.
