The Month of Ramadān In this special month, Allāh (swt) has placed so many great favours! It is a month like no other month. Why? The Holy Qur’an was revealed In some Hadith it is said that the other holy books were also revealed in this month

The Night of Power Among the nights of the Month of Ramadān, there is one very special night The night is better than ____________ months! Do you know how many years that is??

Preparing for Laylatul Qadr In preparing for this special night there are a few things we should all try to do: Ghusl Be in Wudu Remember Allāh (swt) more and talk less of worldly things Pray for the Imām of our time (may he come quickly!) Be prepared for the A’amāl

The Death of Imam ‘Ali (a) The 19th Night of Ramadān is considered one of the special nights of power, the nights of Laylatul Qadr. However, it is also a very sad day for us, as it is the night in which Imam ‘Ali (a) was struck by ibn Muljim It is a day when the world is grieving for the death of the Imam is very near.

The Morning of the 19th of Ramadān On the morning of the 19th of Ramadān 40AH, Imām ‘Ali (a) went towards Masjid-e-Kufā for Fajr prayers. Whilst he was in Sajdah of the first Rak’ah he was struck on the head with a poisonous sword by ibn Muljim. Imam was taken home by his sons where was in pain for two days. He passed away on the 21st of Ramadān

A’amāl for Laylatul Qadr 1 A’amāl for Laylatul Qadr Two Rakā’at prayer In each prayer recite Sura al-Hamd and then Sura al-Ikhlas 7 times. After the prayer we recite 70x: أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ I seek forgiveness of Allāh and I turn (repentant) to Him.

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم 2 Let us open our Qur’an and recite: بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم In the Name of Allah, the most Kind, the most Merciful

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ Allah bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِكِتاَبِكَ الْمُنْزَلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِكِتاَبِكَ الْمُنْزَلِ O Allah, I ask You, for the sake of Your revealed Book

وَمَا فِيْهِ وَفِيْهِ اسْمُكَ الْأَكْبَرُ وَمَا فِيْهِ وَفِيْهِ اسْمُكَ الْأَكْبَرُ And what is in it, and in it is Your greatest name

وَاَسْمَآئُكَ الْحُسْنَى وَمَا يُخَافُ وَيُرْجٰى وَاَسْمَآئُكَ الْحُسْنَى وَمَا يُخَافُ وَيُرْجٰى And (all) Your beautiful names and what is feared and hoped for

أَنْ تَجْعَلَنِيْ مِنْ عُتَقَائِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ أَنْ تَجْعَلَنِيْ مِنْ عُتَقَائِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ Make me amongst those whom You have saved from the fire. (ask for your Hajat)

اللَّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنِ 3 Place the Quran on your head and say: اللَّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنِ O Allah, for the sake of this Quran

وَبِحَقِّ مَنْ اَرْسَلْتَهُ بِه وَبِحَقِّ مَنْ اَرْسَلْتَهُ بِه For the sake of the one You sent with it

وَبِحَقِّ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مَدَحْتَهُ فِيْهِ وَبِحَقِّ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مَدَحْتَهُ فِيْهِ For the sake of every believer You have praised in it

وَبِحَقِّكَ عَلَيْهِمْ And for the sake of Your right over them

فَلَا أَحَدَ اَعْرَفُ بِحَقِّكَ مِنْكَ فَلَا أَحَدَ اَعْرَفُ بِحَقِّكَ مِنْكَ For none is more aware of Your right over them than Yourself

بِكَ يَا اللّهُ، For Your sake, O Allah Repeat each of the following ten times: بِكَ يَا اللّهُ، For Your sake, O Allah

For the sake of Muhammad (s) بِمُحَمّدٍ، For the sake of Muhammad (s)

بِعَلِيّ، For the sake of Ali (a)

For the sake of Fatima (a) بِفَاطِمَةَ، For the sake of Fatima (a)

For the sake of Hasan (a) بِالحَسَنِ، For the sake of Hasan (a)

For the sake of Husayn (a) بِالحُسَيْنِ، For the sake of Husayn (a)

بِعَلِيّ بْنِ الحُسَيْنِ، For the sake of ‘Ali son of Husayn (a)

بِمُحَمّدِ بْنِ عَلِيّ، For the sake of Muhammad son of ‘Ali (a)

بِجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمّدٍ، For the sake of Ja’far son of Muhammad (a)

بِمُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، For the sake of Musa son of Ja’far (a)

For the sake of ‘Ali son of Musa (a) بِعَلِيّ بْنِ مُوسَى، For the sake of ‘Ali son of Musa (a)

بِمُحَمّدِ بْنِ عَلِيّ، For the sake of Muhammad son of ‘Ali (a)

بِعَلِيّ بْنِ مُحَمّدٍ، For the sake of ‘Ali son of Muhammad (a)

بِالحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيّ، For the sake of Hasan son of ‘Ali (a)

For the sake of Al- Hujjah, the Proof (a) بِالحُجّةِ، For the sake of Al- Hujjah, the Proof (a)

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم 4 Let us recite the following Du’a together: بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم In the Name of Allah, the most Kind, the most Merciful

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ Allah bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي امْسَيْتُ لَكَ عَبْداً دَاخِراً اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي امْسَيْتُ لَكَ عَبْداً دَاخِراً O Allah, I am, on this night, a very humble servant of Yours

لاَ امْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي نَفْعاً وَلاَ ضَرّاً لاَ امْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي نَفْعاً وَلاَ ضَرّاً I have no control over gains and losses for myself

وَلاَ اصْرِفُ عَنْهَا سُوءً وَلاَ اصْرِفُ عَنْهَا سُوءً Nor can I avert any evil from it

اشْهَدُ بِذٰلِكَ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِي اشْهَدُ بِذٰلِكَ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِي I bear witness to that over myself

وَاعْتَرِفُ لَكَ بِضَعْفِ قُوَّتِي وَقِلَّةِ حِيلَتِي وَاعْتَرِفُ لَكَ بِضَعْفِ قُوَّتِي وَقِلَّةِ حِيلَتِي I acknowledge to You my weakness and my lack of means.

فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ So bless Muhammad and his family

وَانْجِزْ لِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي وَانْجِزْ لِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي And fulfil for me what You have promised me

وَجَمِيعَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَجَمِيعَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ And to all the believers, men and women

مِنَ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ فِي هٰذِهِ ٱللَّيْلَةِ مِنَ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ فِي هٰذِهِ ٱللَّيْلَةِ The promise of forgiveness on this night

وَاتْمِمْ عَلَيَّ مَا آتَيْتَنِي وَاتْمِمْ عَلَيَّ مَا آتَيْتَنِي And complete for me what You have given me

فَإِنِّي عَبْدُكَ ٱلْمِسكِينُ ٱلْمُسْتَكِينُ فَإِنِّي عَبْدُكَ ٱلْمِسكِينُ ٱلْمُسْتَكِينُ Surely I am Your servant, poor, humble

ٱلضَّعِيفُ ٱلْفَقِيرُ ٱلْمَهِينُ ٱلضَّعِيفُ ٱلْفَقِيرُ ٱلْمَهِينُ Weak, needy and disgraced

اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْنِي نَاسِياً لِذِكْرِكَ فِيمَا اوْلَيْتَنِي اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْنِي نَاسِياً لِذِكْرِكَ فِيمَا اوْلَيْتَنِي O Allah, do not make me forgetful of Your remembrance in what You have entrusted me

وَلاَ غَافِلاً لإِحْسَانِكَ فِيمَا اعْطَيْتَنِي وَلاَ غَافِلاً لإِحْسَانِكَ فِيمَا اعْطَيْتَنِي Nor heedless of Your favours in what You have given me

وَلاَ آيِساً مِنْ إِجَابَتِكَ وَإِنْ اَبْطَاتْ عَنِّي وَلاَ آيِساً مِنْ إِجَابَتِكَ وَإِنْ اَبْطَاتْ عَنِّي Nor despairing of Your answer even if it was delayed for me.

فِي سَرَّاءَ اوْ ضَرَّاءَ (let this be on all occasions) in happiness or sorrow

اوْ شِدَّةٍ اوْ رَخَاءٍ In difficulty or ease

اوْ عَافِيَةٍ اوْ بَلاءٍ In health or sickness

اوْ بُؤْسٍ اوْ نَعْمَاءَ In misfortunes or blessings

إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَاءِ Surely You listen to the Du’as (supplications)

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم 5 Let us recite the following Du’a together: بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم In the Name of Allah, the most Kind, the most Merciful

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ Allah bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

يَا ذَا الّذِي كَانَ قَبْلَ كُلّ شَيْءٍ، يَا ذَا الّذِي كَانَ قَبْلَ كُلّ شَيْءٍ، O He who existed before everything else

يَا ذَا الّذِي كَانَ قَبْلَ كُلّ شَيْءٍ، يَا ذَا الّذِي كَانَ قَبْلَ كُلّ شَيْءٍ، O He who existed before everything else

ثُمّ خَلَقَ كُلّ شَيْءٍ، Then created everything

ثُمّ يَبْقَى وَيَفْنَى كُلّ شَيْءٍ، ثُمّ يَبْقَى وَيَفْنَى كُلّ شَيْءٍ، Then He will remain while everything else perishes

يَا ذَا الّذِي لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ، يَا ذَا الّذِي لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ، O He who has non similar to Him

وَيَا ذَا الّذِي لَيْسَ فِي السّمَاوَاتِ العُلَى، وَيَا ذَا الّذِي لَيْسَ فِي السّمَاوَاتِ العُلَى، O He who there is none in the elevated heavens

وَلا فِي الأَرَضِينَ السّفْلَى، وَلا فِي الأَرَضِينَ السّفْلَى، Nor in the deep earth

وَلا فَوْقَهُنّ وَلا تَحْتَهُنّ وَلا بَيْنَهُنّ إلهٌ يُعْبَدُ غَيْرُهُ، Nor above them nor below them nor between them, a God who is worshipped besides Him

لَكَ الحَمْدُ حَمْداً لا يَقْوَى عَلَى إحْصَائِهِ إلاَّ أَنْتَ، لَكَ الحَمْدُ حَمْداً لا يَقْوَى عَلَى إحْصَائِهِ إلاَّ أَنْتَ، For You is praise, a praise which cannot be comprehended except by You

فَصَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ فَصَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ Bless Muhammad the family of Muhammad

صَلاةً لا يَقْوَى عَلَى إحْصَائِهَا إلاَّ أَنْتَ. صَلاةً لا يَقْوَى عَلَى إحْصَائِهَا إلاَّ أَنْتَ. Blessings which none can comprehend except You

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم 6 This next Du’a is so powerful – it is a Du’a which can change our lives. بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم In the Name of Allah, the most Kind, the most Merciful

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ Allah bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

اللّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ فِي مَا تَقْضِي وَتُقَدِّرُ اللّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ فِي مَا تَقْضِي وَتُقَدِّرُ O Allah, I ask You about that which You decree and determine

اَللَّـهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِيْـمَا تَقْضِيْ وَتُقَدِّرُ اَللَّـهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِيْـمَا تَقْضِيْ وَتُقَدِّرُ O Allah, let it be that when You decree and determine

مِنَ الاَمْرِ الْمَحْتُومِ، مِنَ الاَمْرِ الْمَحْتُومِ، From the matters which are certain

وَفِيْـمَا تَفْرُقُ مِنَ الاَمْرِ الحَكِيْمِ وَفِيْـمَا تَفْرُقُ مِنَ الاَمْرِ الحَكِيْمِ That when You distinguish in the matters which are wise

فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ، On the night of Qadr

وَفِي الْقَضَاءِ الَّذِي لَا يُرَدُّ وَلَا يُبَدَّلْ، وَفِي الْقَضَاءِ الَّذِي لَا يُرَدُّ وَلَا يُبَدَّلْ، In the decree which cannot be reversed nor changed

أَنْ تَكْتُبَنِي مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ أَنْ تَكْتُبَنِي مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ That You write me amongst those who will go for pilgrimage (hajj) to Your Holy House

الْمَبْرُورِ حَجُّهُمُ، الْمَشْكُورِ سَعْيُهُمُ، الْمَبْرُورِ حَجُّهُمُ، الْمَشْكُورِ سَعْيُهُمُ، Whose Hajj is approved, whose efforts are appreciated

الْمَغْفُورِ ذُنُوبُهُمُ، الْمُكَفَّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُهُمْ، الْمَغْفُورِ ذُنُوبُهُمُ، الْمُكَفَّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُهُمْ، Whose sins are forgiven, whose evil deeds have been pardoned

وَاجْعَلْ فِي مَا تَقْضِي وَتُقَدِّرُ وَاجْعَلْ فِي مَا تَقْضِي وَتُقَدِّرُ And from what You decree and ordain

Let my life be lengthened أَنْ تُطِيلَ عُمْرَي Let my life be lengthened

وَتُوَسِّعَ عَلَيَّ رِزْقِي، وَتَفْعَلَ بِي وَتُوَسِّعَ عَلَيَّ رِزْقِي، وَتَفْعَلَ بِي And increase my sustenance And…(ask for your needs)

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ رَبِّي وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ 7 أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ رَبِّي وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ I seek forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I turn (repentant) to Him

اَللَّهُمّ الْعَنْ قَتَلَةَ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ 8 اَللَّهُمّ الْعَنْ قَتَلَةَ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ O Allah, condemn those who killed Amirul Mu’mineen (a)
