No ART start refers to HIV diagnosed more than 1 month previously but not started ART. Recent ART refers to first-line ART started within the preceding 3 months. ART fail refers to first-line ART taken for longer than 6 months with detectable HIV-1 viral load or recent switch to second line ART. Default refers to patients who started ART but defaulted therapy. ART=antiretroviral therapy.
