Standards and Procedures Evaluation of Learning Standards and Procedures August 28, 2006

Planning evaluation in your school Individually, read the questions & choose the 5 most pertinent to you. Rank those 5 questions in reverse order (ie 5 being the most important and 1 being the least important) As a school team, choose the 5 questions with the largest ranking sum For the next 20 minutes, discuss within your school teams possible answers to the questions given the context of the reality within your school

Standards & Procedures The establishment of evaluation standards and procedures must be based on a shared understanding of what is meant by a standard and a procedure. A STANDARD: Is a common reference Results from a consensus of the school team Is prescriptive May be revised as needed Is consistent with the Education Act and the Basic School Regulations Conforms to the Quebec Education Program Is based on the policy on the Evaluation of Learning and the Policy on Special Education A PROCEDURE: Explains how to apply a standard May be revised as needed Guides evaluation strategies Indicates means of action
