Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 is expressed in both sertoli cells and metaphase spermatocytes  Donna R Session, M.D., Michael P Fautsch, Ph.D., Rajeswari Avula, William R Jones, M.D., Ajay Nehra, M.D., Eric D Wieben, Ph.D.  Fertility and Sterility  Volume 75, Issue 4, Pages 669-673 (April 2001) DOI: 10.1016/S0015-0282(00)01794-5

Figure 1 Localization of Cdk5 and α-tubulin in Sertoli cells. Immunohistochemistry was performed on paraffin-embedded adult testis with anti-Cdk5 and α-tubulin antibodies. Detection was performed with a secondary peroxidase-labeled antibody which was stained brown with diaminobenzidine and counterstained with hematoxylin which stains nuclei blue for single immunohistochemistry. (A) Anti-Cdk5 in mouse testis (photographed at 40× magnification). (B) Anti-α-tubulin in mouse testis (photographed at 40× magnification). (C) Anti-Cdk5 in human testis (photographed at 100× magnification). (D) For double immunohistochemistry analysis, adult mouse testis sections were stained brown with diaminobenzidine (anti-Cdk5) and purple with Vector VIP (anti-α-tubulin) and counterstained with methyl green which nuclei green (photographed at 40× magnification). Figure 2 Localization of Cdk5 in meiotic metaphase. Immunohistochemical analysis was performed on paraffin-embedded adult mouse testis with an anti-Cdk5 antibody. Detection was performed with a secondary peroxidase-labeled antibody which was stained brown with diaminobenzidine. The sections were counterstained with hematoxylin which stains nuclei blue. Figure 3 Detection of Cdk5 in mouse tissue lysates. Lysates from mouse tissues were examined for Cdk5 expression by immunoblotting. The relative molecular weight (kD) is indicated. Sixty micrograms of protein was loaded per lane. (A) Anti-Cdk5. (B) Anti-Cdk5 preblocked with immunizing peptide. Lanes: T, testis; L, liver; S, spleen; K, kidney; H, heart; Lu, lung; B, bladder.
