Evaluation and Points THIS IS A MARKET ANIMAL IT WILL BE SOLD BACK TO BREEDER- THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO HOME

Point System Qualification A student that earns must earn a minimum of 50 points from the point system rubric in will not be eligible to participate in a livestock experience the next year at the Fall Challenge Livestock Show. If a student earns less than 50 points that student will not be eligible to participate in the Fall Challenge Livestock show the next year.

Point System Qualifications 3. A student must earn a minimum of 70 points from the point system rubric in order to be considered for the major show level next year. The following components will also be used to determine the final eligibility of the student to participate at the major show level A. The student and parent(s)/guardian(s) must interview with the project supervisor of the species of interest. B. The student must receive a positive recommendation from the project supervisor that supervised the student for the Fall Challenge Livestock Show.

Important dates to remember ~ 9/20 Rabbits handed out Special instructions will be given that day due to water and feeding differences that week 9/28- Bunny meeting We will be discussing showmanship more in depth 10/12- Showmanship and barn meeting 10/19- Knowledge exam 10/29- Show day

Time and Feeding Requirements Feed in Morning before 9am ONLY FEED 1 pinch of HAY Change and freshen water Feeding in Evening Afterschool before 9pm Feed ½ Cup of feed for the 1st 5 days then ¾ cup until day 10 then 1 cup everyday after Remove any old feed throw in trash can ONLY in the evening MUST DO EVEN ON WEEKENDS!

Cleaning Requirement Underneath cage MUST be cleaned DAILY!!!! Do this when you have extra time in the afternoon Be careful of the PEEEEEEEEEE Dispose of feces in proper buckets and dump every time into dumpster

Handling Two part to handling Showmanship Must be able to flip rabbit on back and talk and discuss about the rabbit conformation Rabbit must be tame for this but not TOO tame This can be bad if it turns into a pet Market handling Daily Handling Working hair Do NOT OVER HEAT

DO NOTS Do not feed anything else BUT hay and feed Do not take out of barn DO NOT allow it to run on ground Do not touch others rabbits or feed other rabbits unless instructed otherwise Grand champion /reserve grand champions have been students in the past who the entire barn fed

Do’s Do handle your rabbit- daily but no more than 15-20 minutes Do check your rabbit for signs of illness Do check to make sure fans are on Do check your rabbit’s water Do clean up after yourself and rabbit Do weigh your rabbit weekly and record weight in binder under your name DO ask for help! CLOSE your cage doors! Double triple check DO close barn door
