OUTLINE Introduction System Diagram System Introduction EXPERIMENT CONCLUSION 2

INTRODUCTION 3 The ARCHEOGUIDE (Augmented Reality-based Cultural HEritage On-site GUIDE) project aims at providing visitors of cultural-heritage sites with archaeological information in an innovative and compelling new way

SYSTEM DIAGRAM 4

SYSTEM INTRODUCTION 5

(CONT.) 6 Use a see-through scheme with the overlay images displayed between the real scene and the users eye Displaying a readily mixed image comprised of the backgroundand the virtual objects

(CONT.) 7 Primary requirements for a suitable camera: Image quality Maximum frame-rate( )

(CONT.) 8 Field Of View (FOV) FOV=45

(CONT.) 9 Improve the accuracy of the position values, we use differential GPS(DGPS)

(CONT.) 10

(CONT.) 11 Although the user can see the interface at any time directly inside his field of view wearing the display on his head, he is not able to type text on-screen-menus of television sets, game consoles

EXPERIMENT 12 HMD(head-mount-display) & Cam console System with Antenna & GPS

=7.9(kg)

EXPERIMENT 14

CONCLUSION We decided to optimize for computing power instead of weight, mobility and robustness, since performance is crucial for an interactive system like ARCHEOGUIDE To overcome the stated interaction difficulties and ergonomic weaknesses we work on an improved input device 15
