Angle of Impact

Area of Convergence The location of the source of blood can be determined By drawing straight lines and noting where the lines intersect, this will indicate the lines of convergence When there are numerous blood spatters, the area where the lines of convergence meet is where the source of blood originated.

Angle of Impact Calculations The area of origin is the location of the blood source as viewed in three dimensions. It is determined by projecting angles of impact of individual bloodstains.

Calculating the Angle of Impact Measure the width and length of each droplet of blood. Divide the width by the length. Take the arcsine, or inverse sine, of the ratio width : length to determine the angle of impact FORMULA:
