Take a sheet of white copy paper You are pre-industrial artisans producing stationery, using only pens or pencils and a ruler. The stationery must have three holes so it can fit in a binder , and it may be adorned with creative touches to make it visually appealing Be precise and artistic. You will have 7 minutes to complete your stationery; the student with the most adorned, and beautiful stationery will receive a prize

How did you feel as an artisan crafting your product? What were the advantages of producing the stationery by hand? Disadvantages? Are you proud of your creation? How many of these could you create in an hour? Would they be identical?

How could you expedite (speed up) the process? How could you ensure that each page was identical What are the benefits of doing those things? What are the costs? What impact would these methods have on the price of these items? Overall, would using a hole-punch machine and a color copier be an improvement in making stationery? Why? Why not?

Page 19 in your ISN (left side page Would you rather be an artisan or a manufacturer? Why or why not?
