By: Mike Wilson – All Rights Reserved Git Along Ol’ Mule Music K-8 Vol. 17, No. 3 CD#9/28 By: Mike Wilson – All Rights Reserved PPT: L. Trewin

As I was a-walkin’ the streets of Sonora, I spied an old miner shufflin’ along. His tail was a-draggin’, loadin’ his wagon, Downhearted and singin’ this song.

Git along ol’ mule, gonna leave Californy Git along ol’ mule, gonna leave Californy. ‘Twarnt no gold in them hills like they say. Git along ol’ mule, seen enough misfortune. Git back on that Montana Trail!

I paid my condolence to this sor’ful stranger, He said, “Thank ya kindly.” and then ambled on. His story’s a sad one but not so uncommon. He rode off a-singin’ his song.

Git along ol’ mule, gonna leave Californy Git along ol’ mule, gonna leave Californy. ‘Twarnt no gold in them hills like they say. Git along ol’ mule, seen enough misfortune. Git back on that Montana Trail!

Git back on that Montana trail. Git back on that Montana trail.
