The Called Out body

Church defined Kuriakos-of or belonging to the lord Ekklesia-called out The church is the called out body of people belonging to the lord. Universal: Mt. 16:18; Eph. 5:23-25 Local: 1 Cor. 1:2; 1 Thess. 1:1 Members are called out of the world into the church for the service of God.

Nature of the calling Called by god unto eternal glory (1 pet. 5:10) Called to peace (1 Cor. 7:15) Called to fellowship with god (1 Cor. 1:9) Called to be saints (1 Cor. 1:2) Called to be holy (1 Thess. 4:7) Called to heaven from heaven (Heb. 3:1) Called out of darkness into light (1 Pet. 2:9)

Hope of the calling To be counted worthy of this calling (2 Thess. 1:11) To inherit a blessing (1 Pet. 3:9) To be perfect and claim the prize (Phil. 3:13-16)

How are we called? We are called by the gospel (2 thess. 2:14) The gospel is the power of god unto salvation (Rom. 1:16) The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of christ (1 Cor. 15:1-4) We are saved from our sins when we go through a similar death, burial, and resurrection (Rom. 6:1-4)
