Character Writing Activity

Step one: This belongs in your writer’s notebook Name your character.First, Middle, and Last. You can change it later on if needed. So, do not spend too much time on this step.

Step two: Infer THREE things about your character and support it with evidence from the picture. Starter sentence Suzy is a _________ type because in the picture she is…

Step Three: Step Four: List 3-4 things your character hates or despises. Why? List 3-4 things your character loves, adores, or cherishes. Why?

Who is in your character’s immediate family? Siblings? Parents? Who does your character live with? Where do they live? What type of house? Step five: Who is in your character’s immediate family?

Begin by choosing a picture Begin by choosing a picture. It will be easier on you if you choose one from your own gender. Have the students write the steps down before choosing their picture. That was my first mistake! :)
