Junipero Serra Did you know Junipero Serra found the San Juan Capistrano Mission? Junipero Serra founded 21 missions. He was born November 24th , 1713. He was born in the village of Petra. A few hours after he was born he got baptized in a village church. Junipero Serra died August 28th, 1784.He died from an Asthma attack.

About the Native Americans The Native Americans Indians began in ancient times, tens of thousands years ago. Scientists have studied this tribe that existed during there era. There were 5.2 million American Indians. Instead of there being 5.2 million there is now 1.4 million Natives.

Disaster On the Mission What were some of the disasters on the San Juan Capistrano mission? One of the disasters that happened in San Juan Capistrano was an earthquake. In 1812, the Wrightwood earthquake, hit the San Juan Capistrano mission. The earthquake magnitude was 7.2. Several of the Roman Catholic mission in the area experienced heavy damage. The San Juan Capistrano collapsed. The stone wall church was destroyed.

Mission Location The location of this mission is 4.7 miles away .It is located in CA, 92675 Ortega Highway. This was the 7th mission founded. Its location is beautiful. It has amazing green grass and a beautiful water fountain with a little tree sticking out of it.

Facts About the San Juan Capistrano Mission The San Juan Capistrano was the seventh mission to be found. It was a Spanish mission .This mission was the only mission founded twice. Every year the swallows come back on March 19th. Actually March 19th is a holiday its called St. Joseph’s Day. The swallows leave on the day of San Juan (October 23rd).
