LESSON – 12 DRAFTING METHOD OF SHIRT BLOCK FOR ABNORMAL FIGURES

INTRODUCTION Human body - have different abnormalities – e.g. corpulent, stooping (forward-stance), erect, (backward stance ), square shoulder, prominent hips etc. While cutting shirt for abnormal figure, points keep on mind – must modify – otherwise fitting problems created – different figures need different modifications

CORPULENT FIGURE - waist round is more than chest - back pushes inside Salient features of a corpulent figure : - waist round is more than chest - back pushes inside - heavy body ( the SCALE is necessary for this figure- scale = 1/3 chest + 15 cm )

CONSTRUCTION LINES SLEEVE : ( half ) 0-1 = sleeve length 0-2 = 1/4 scale 0-3 = ½ scale 1-4 = 4 cm for turning 4-5 = 0-3 5-6 = 2 cm COLLAR : 0-1 = 8 cm 1-2 & 0-3 = ½ neck 1-4 = 1.5 cm 4-5 = 4.2 cm 5-6 & 4-7 = 1-2 6-8 = 1.5 cm

CONSTRUCTION LINES STAND : 0-1 = 4.7 cm 0-2 & 1-3 = ½ neck A & B is the midpoint of 1-3 & 0-2 5-8 = 2 cm 8-9 = 0.5 cm PATCH POCKET : 0-1 = 1/6 chest + 1.5 0-2 = 1/6 chest 1-3 = 0-2
