Presentation transcript:

A Raisin in the Sun Pre-Reading Survey

Get out a separate piece of paper and number it 1- 8 skipping several lines between each number. For each statement, either agree or disagree and then briefly explain why you feel that way, backing your opinions up with examples, etc… This will be collected and graded.

Agree or Disagree 1) If you work hard enough for your dreams, they will come true.

Agree or Disagree 2) If you're going to be successful, you have to take some big risks.

Agree or Disagree 3) Once children are grown, their parents are no longer responsible for them.

Agree or Disagree 4) Once somebody immigrates to the United States that person should leave their culture/heritage behind and instead focus on “being an American”.

Agree or Disagree 5) Sometimes you have to swallow your pride in order to survive and prosper.

Agree or Disagree 6) Neighbors have the right to decide what kind of community they want to have, including what type of people live in that neighborhood.

Agree or Disagree 7) Most people don't try hard enough to see the other person's perspective.

Agree or Disagree 8) When someone insults you, it's best to "turn the other cheek."
