Social media needs to be used as part of a media/ communications mix. Social Media Strategy Social media needs to be used as part of a media/ communications mix. Facebook – 50% UK population have an account 26% users 25-34 years old Has it peaked??? Twitter – 15m users in the UK 74% users 15-25 years old, 6% aged 46+ 80% access via a mobile device Still growing Pintrest – 2m users in the UK 80% users are women, 25-34 years old biggest age group Growing fast & image rich

Social Media & SAS Usage varies across the sites How do we best use social media as part of our communication plans? Michelham’s Christmas Fair - on Saturday photos were shared with 10 local business and what’s on sites on facebook and by the end of the weekend 1755 had seen the post! We need to identify the gaps in usage and knowledge base and fill. Review strategy on an annual basis – this channel is fast moving!
