Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements Opening Definition/RESULTS301 Opening Inquiry Screen Previous Stand Information – NOW REQUIRED Business Case MoFR needs a pre-harvest record of the stand for comparison purposes in the future (e.g. data used for measuring things like species shift, or changes in site productivity 5

Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements Disturbance/RESULTS316 Disturbance Results Screen Added ‘Disturbance Complete’ check box Business Case Allows for identifying completed harvesting activities and completion of harvest on entire opening To be checked when harvesting on entire opening is complete Checking the box will trigger automated cut block status change to LC (FTA) Requires Disturbance End Date if checked Known issues Appears that there is an issue with Disturbance area being displayed on RESULTS315/316 if dates are missing Note Licensees are only obligated to report harvesting when logging is complete on the opening. Licensees may choose to report partial harvest of an opening. Licensee will have to report partial harvest in situations where there is a desire to report FC and or milestones on SUs completely harvested For XML/GML submissions: Licensee’s must submit the start and end date of the harvesting activity.  If the harvesting is complete for the entire opening, then they should set the harvestCompleteOnCutBlock field to TRUE.  If the harvesting is not complete for the entire opening (and there are plans to harvest the rest later), then they should set the harestCompleteOnCutBlock field to false 6

Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements Disturbance/RESULTS316 Disturbance Results Screen Added rule enforcing existence of at least one Disturbance record if Forest Cover Exists Business Case This rule was designed to ensure that disturbance records exist for openings, and the disturbance record would not be removed without a replacement When Forest Cover exists there must be at least one disturbance record Known issues In order to delete an incorrect disturbance and replace it with the correct disturbance, users must first add the new, correct disturbance, and then delete the incorrect disturbance record. 7

Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements Silviculture Activity/RESULTS317 Silviculture Screen Relax edit rules around Treatment areas for Certain Activities Business Case There was a need to simplify the reporting for activities that could span multiple openings Activities impacted: PC (Pest Control), SU (Survey), FE (Fertilization) Area for treatments listed above may exceed 125% of opening gross area Edit rule still applies to remaining silviculture treatments: Activity Treatment Unit (ATU) areas must be with 125% of opening gross area In situations where no opening exists then an opening must be submitted to RESULTS and the activity must be submitted to that opening. 1

Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements Forest Cover/RESULTS320/321/328 Forest Cover Screens New Edit Rules Business Case New forest cover edit rules added to help ensure FC data being submitted as per the legislated requirements At least one forest cover polygon is required before a milestone declaration can be made (e.g. post-harvest, regen delay, free growing, and no regen) A disturbance record must exist for an opening before a forest cover submission is accepted IMM and NSR FC Poly’s must link to a standard unit (SU) through attribute in FC, or spatially Emergency fix – not applicable to Reserve Polygons 8

Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements Milestone Declaration/RESULTS325 Milestones Screens Free Growing Milestones can be now declared even when Early Free Growing offset field is blank Business Case This rule is especially focused on Openings that were previously managed with Silviculture Prescriptions, and have been brought under an FSP (which may not specify early FG offsets) under section 195(5) SUs cannot be declared unless there is a forest cover polygon present This rule helps ensure that FC is submitted as required 9

Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements Opening Definition Amendments to Silv Pres In XML submissions minimum height is now optional for Silv Prescription openings with approval dates prior to 1994-04-01 (RESULTS on-line already supported this) Business Case Need to make XML submissions consistent with online functionality This is for stocking standards only 10

Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements ESF Amendments/RESULTS312 Amendments Tree height will not be mandatory for Layer 1, 2, 3 for ESF Silv Pres Amendment Submissions Business Case This rule brings SSIDs in line with similar rules already in affect for stocking standards for Silv Pres This was already in place in RESULTS Addition of Submission Date Field for Silv Pres Amendments The addition of the amendment submission date will allow for measuring how quickly/slowly amendments are processed 11

Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements ESF Amendments/RESULTS312 Amendments and Site Plan Amendments Silviculture Prescription Amendments and Site Plan Amendments can now add/update Stocking Standards IDs after the Regen Milestone has been declared. Business Case This rule allows for amendments to occur after the regen milestone has been achieved Known issues The Regen Due Offset will be locked down and unchanged The BEC information will not be overwritten by the application of the SSID, but it can be changed manually 12

Updates and Enhancements March 2005 RESULTS Training RESULTS 3.0 What’s New? Updates and Enhancements RESULTS505 Standards Proposal Screens Tree height will not be mandatory for Layer 1, 2, 3 Business Case This rule brings SSIDs in lines with similar rules already in affect for stocking standards for Silv Pres: SUs cannot be declared unless there is a forest cover polygon present 13
