First Grade Subjects Reading – Math Writing Science Plants Independent – Teacher demonstrated and students read on their own. Reading and Responding – Teacher and students share the reading and respond to text. Guided – students read in leveled groups Math Everyday Math Numbers and operations Algebra Geometry Measurement Data Analysis and Probability Writing Students write daily. Stories, Letters, Poems concentrating on punctuation and correct sentence patterns. Science Plants Sun and Moon Earth Materials Exploring motion Social Studies Families here and across the world.
