What Are Time Zones?

Why Do We Have time zones? *Days and nights occur because the earth is spinning on an axis. *Approximately half of the earth's surface is illuminated by the sun, *but since the earth is constantly turning, it is necessary to divide the earth into twenty-four time zones, *one for each hour of the day.

United States has 6 Time Zones

The sun rises in the east. Let’s Practice! The sun rises in the east. Here are some easy steps to figure out what time it is in the different time zones. Locate starting time zone Determine if you are moving to a time zone to the east or to the west of you If it is to the east…add one hour for each time zone you go through If it is to the west…subtract one hour for each time zone you go through It’s 12:00 in Ohio: What time is it in Colorado? What time is Florida? What time is it in California? What time is it in Kansas? What time is it in Arizona?

Which Time Zone Am I In. Color the 4 time zones different colors Which Time Zone Am I In? Color the 4 time zones different colors. Label each zone correctly
