Museums in the Tees Valley 2015/16 Accreditation – 11 museums in the Accreditation scheme, the National Standard for museums. Visits – 756,477 visits to museums in 2015/16. Economic impact – visits to museums helped contribute £5.2M to the local economy. Inspiring learning – 33,372 participants in learning sessions delivered by museums. Community engagement – 12,137 people engaged through outreach work and activities. Volunteering – 324 volunteers contributed 22,278 hours, worth £159,129 to museums and their surrounding communities. Jobs – 132 people employed by museums across the Tees Valley. Museums in the Tees Valley 2015/16 Dorman Museum, Middlesbrough Figures based on data from all Accredited museums in Tees Valley.
