CONTENT The Genesis Tech. Background Working Procedure Challenge Proposed system Tech. Background Working Procedure Pictorial Representation Advantages Applications Conclusion

CHALLENGE To create a multi-tasking device that should be user friendly even for physically handicapped people. To create a device that should be helpful for the people who are dumb, in their daily life. To create a robotic device which can be controlled by using gestures unlike a traditional remote controlled device. To increase the level of comfort.

PROPOSED SYSTEM AIM OF THE PROJECT: To create a single “Glove” which is useful for multiple applications using the hand gestures (wireless). The different applications that we are going to implement here are: Controlling a robot Controlling the home appliances Voice enabled communicator To design the above mentioned futuristic device, we are opting for “MEMS”(Micro Electro Mechanical Sensor) Technology.

TECHNOLOGY BACKGROUND In detail description of Block Diagram Power Supply Micro controller (PIC16F877A) MEMS (MMA7260Q) RF Transmitter and Receiver Voice Circuit (APR9600)

RF Transmitter circuit 433.92 MHz Frequency Low Cost 1.5-12V operation 11mA current consumption at 3V Small size 4 dBm output power at 3V

RF Receiver circuit Low Cost 5V operation 3.5mA current drain No External Parts are required Receiver Frequency: 433.92 MHZ Typical sensitivity: -105dBm IF Frequency: 1MHz

MEMS Micro-Electro-Mechanical accelerometer Sensor (MEMS) is the integration of mechanical elements, sensors, actuators, and electronics on a common silicon substrate through micro fabrication technology. An accelerometer measures acceleration (change in speed) of anything that it's mounted on. Three-axis accelerometers measure acceleration in three directions. The MEMS we use in our project is MMA7260Q. The GS1 and GS2 pins allow you to set the accelerometer's sensitivity, depending on how much force it will be subjected to in your application. For low-force activities like measuring the tilt of an object, the lowest setting, 1.5g, is probably enough. If it's going to be attached to a crash-test dummy, you might want to set the sensitivity to the full 6G, or get a better accelerometer.

Applications of MEMS MEMS-based sensors are a crucial component in automotive electronics, medical equipment, smart portable electronics such as cell phones. PDAs, and hard disk drives, computer peripherals, and wireless devices. These sensors began in the automotive industry especially for crash detection in airbag systems.

ADVANTAGES Easy to operate Low power consumption User friendly Single equipment = multiple applications When extended further in the hardware section ,numerous applications can be added One can able to control one’s slave robots just by hand gestures by this technology.

APPLICATIONS Plays a major role in helping deaf and dumb people in their daily life. Can be used as an assistance for physically challenged people. Military applications Geographic excavations General purpose device for better living Useful for Animal Planet, Discovery people for their studies on animals by playing different sounds & for their exploration.

FUTURE SCOPE Adding Zigbee Module Adding GPRS and GPS Adding Video Camera for live streaming Connecting Bomb detector or metal detector Adding Temperature Sensor
