Statewide Goals From the State of Hawaii DOE Strategic Plan 2011-2018

Academic Plan Goal 1 Student Success All DOE students demonstrate they are on a path toward success in college, career and citizenship. Strategy 1: Common Core State Standards Implementation of CCSS for ELA and Math Strategy 2: Comprehensive Student Supports Provide opportunities and supports for all students Strategy 3: Formative Instruction/Data Team process PDCA cycle for all teachers in use of formative assessments. Academic Plan Goal 2 Staff Success The DOE has a high-performing culture where employees have the training, support, and professional development to contribute effectively to student success. Strategy 4: Educator Effectiveness Systems Implement EES and use results to support teachers. Strategy 5: Induction and Mentoring Increase educator effectiveness by providing continuing supports. Strategy 6: Highly Qualified Teachers Provide targeted supports for NHQT to become HQT.

Successful Systems of Support Academic Plan Goal 3 Successful Systems of Support The system and culture of the DOE work to effectively organize financial, human, and community resources in support of student success. Strategy 6: Effective Use of Technology Increase use of technology to provide learning opportunities for all students.
