1. What is ACP? ACP stands for Academic and Career Planning and was mandated by DPI for all Public schools in grades 6-12 starting in the Fall of
Academic and Career Planning Act 20 passed in June 2013 Full implementation by 2017-18 school year E4E (PI 26) requirement to be reviewed annually DPI laid the groundwork, but the districts can choose the delivery
2. How are we going to do this?
ACP Timeline Spring 2014: Found out about ACP Requirement 2014-15: Business Education Pilot 2015-16: CTE Pilot 2016-17: Full School Implementation 1 year before the deadline
ACP TEam Who is going to take the lead on this?? ACP Coordinator (dual role as CTE Coordinator) HS Counselor MS Counselor Building Administrator Advisory Teachers
How will we get this to the Kids? Changed Schedule to include Advisory Every teacher has an advisory 15-19 students per advisory 30 minutes long, 4 days per week All students and advisors are in Google Classroom Advisors are trained on monthly activities as a group
3. What was our Ultimate Goal?
No more “University for All” thinking Every students has a plan at graduation
