Pirates cove beard company, llc We are a family owned business who have put a lot of time and dedication into getting our company to the next level and showing the public what Pirates Cove has to offer. We have attended, participated in and co-sponsored beard and mustache competitions in the past. Gentlemen take pride in their beard and mustaches, they put so much time and effort into them so why not have some fun while doing it. We have spoke with fellow participates, competitors and our buyers to hear their thoughts on what a convention would mean to them and a majority of the responses were, “That would be amazing!” “Awesome idea, I would definitely attend” or “I wish there was something like that around here.” Beard and mustache conventions are not your typical event. We want to make this years event the first of many more to come. We envision in the years to come of hosting our event in different cities across the U.S. and we believe that teaming up with the right sponsors and working together we can not only host a great convention but also raise money for a great charity.

The National Alopecia Areata Foundation Alopecia areata is a an autoimmune skin disease, which causes hair loss on the scalp, face and can also affect hair on other areas of the body. It affects as many as 6.8 million people all over the united states. It affects people of all ages, sexes, races, and ethnic groups. Usually it appears during childhood first and it can affect everyone differently. Alopecia areata is known as a “polygenic disease.” This means that, unlike a single-gene disease, both parents must contribute a number of specific genes in order for a child to develop it. Because of this, most parents will not pass alopecia areata along to their children. With identical twins — who share all of the same genes — there’s only a 55% chance that if one has alopecia areata, the other will, too. This is why scientists believe that it takes more than just genetics to cause the disease and that other environmental factors also contribute to people developing alopecia areata.
