? Belonging to My School A New School Year

to achieve success we need to be good learners and work together. We learn that … we all have an important part to play in making ours a successful and happy school. there are new opportunities and challenges ahead in our new school year. to achieve success we need to be good learners and work together.

Hello! We welcome each other, saying welcome to all the familiar people and we say ‘Hello’ and welcome to many new people too. For some children this is your first year in our school, for others it’s your last year in our school. مرحبا! Bonjour! Hello! Cześć! Hello! Welcome! ¡Hola Hallo! How are you? How was your holiday? Hello! Welcome!

How do we make people feel welcome? Smile – smiling at people shows them you are a friendly person. Give directions and help people if they get a lost, show them where things are. Talk to people who might feel a bit lonely, this will help them to feel better. Be a good friend, think how would you like to be treated if you were new at school?

How do you think they will feel? Most children will be starting in a new class, with a different, or new teacher. Some children will be starting school for the first time. How do you think they will feel?

How did you feel when you first started school?

? Sometimes starting a new school, or being in a new class can be just as worrying as starting the first day at school.

We will all help each other, we all belong to the same school community, or family.

You are all a member of your class and a pupil at our school. You show you belong by… wearing a uniform going to a certain place at a certain time wearing a badge meeting with people who are doing the same thing sharing experiences

Our school is like a jigsaw puzzle. We have the school building, the playground, the playing field, the classrooms and all the people who work here and all the children. Everyone has a job to do in our team to make sure that our school runs smoothly and well.

As we start this year we are also starting to make a new jigsaw!

Every one of us will learn many new things during the year ahead, we have new routines to get used to, the newest members of our school to help. we have some plans for the year ahead …

we have some plans for the year ahead … We are all wanting to raise attainment in all of our learning. We are having some improvements to our building. We are all wanting to “Be the best we can be!”

At Elmvale we all follow our Golden Rules At Elmvale we all follow our Golden Rules. We follow these in our classrooms, corridors, playground and when we are on trips and activities.

Reflection Like a jigsaw piece, we understand that we all have an important part to play in making our school successful and happy. Think about the new opportunities and challenges of the new school year ahead. Think about what we all need to do to be good learners and to work together do our best this year.
