The Electoral Roll What is an electoral roll? It is a text file containing a list of the users in your realm, and serves as a means for creating new accounts How do I get one? When you become the Administrator of your realm, you will be sent one How do I use it? You add the details of new users, and upload the file into your realm.
How to view the contents of the electoral roll The contents of the electoral roll are best viewed in Excel. Drag the electoral_roll icon into the Excel window
How to upload the electoral roll To upload the electoral roll, first log in as the Administrator of your realm. Click the Upload List link On the page that appears, click the Browse button Select the electoral_roll in the window that appears and click Open Then click Upload
How to create new accounts Once you have uploaded the list of users, click the Update Users link On the page that appears, click Configure Users Please note that it may take a few minutes to create the accounts
The different columns of the electoral roll This column is used to assign each user a role. The roles currently available are: ADMINISTRATOR, ACADEMIC, SUPERVISOR, ASSESSOR and STUDENT If a user changes his/her email address, move the old email address into this column and add the new one in the LIVE_EMAIL column to ensure that they will still be able to access their account. User accounts are based on email addresses. Enter the user’s email address in this column. In these columns you can add the names of the users. This is not required, but it helps the Administrator keep track of different users. Set the status of users to ON
