Britton’s and Wilson’s BREAKING NEWSletter January 23rd-27th ELA:  We are going to read a nonfiction text titled Homes. Students will learn how to identify various text features in nonfiction texts. We are going to finish revising and begin publishing our final draft. In grammar, our skills for the week are adverbs and quotation marks. Vocabulary: Secure: “safe and protected.” Durable: If something is durable, it is tough. It can last a long time even if it is used a lot. Texture: “how a material feels—for example, rough or smooth.” Hazardous: means “dangerous.” Convenient: If something is convenient, it is useful because it makes our lives easier or more comfortable. Detect: “discover or notice something that is not easy to see, hear, or feel.” Math: Our math skill this week is fractions larger than 1, ex. 5/2. Announcements: Yearbooks are on sale for $35. Get yours now. Yearbook signing party at the end of the year. Make up day for our snow day is Feb. 17th. Join Remind by texting @rm8squad to 81010. This is how we send out reminders/announcements.
