Implied powers- not expressly stated, but are reasonably suggested. Article I Section 8 Clause 18 “necessary and proper power”
Elastic clause Examples- highways, ending racial discrimination
Inherent powers- federal powers of a sovereign country Examples- immigration, acquiring territory
Powers denied the National Government 1. expressly denied Examples – freedom of religion, illegal searches
Silence of the Constitution- The National government only has the power given to it. Examples – public school, marriage
