Advisory Board Recruitment The School for Social Entrepreneurs North West (SSE NW) is a member of the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) global network and works to mobilise the experience of enterprising people and support them to use entrepreneurial approaches to create sustainable solutions to unmet social issues.   The Blackburne House Group (BHG) has held the contract to deliver the SSE in the North West for some 10 years. During this time SSE NW has helped to start, grow and scale hundreds of social enterprises and community businesses, strengthening the social enterprise sector across the region. We now have an exciting opportunity for up to 4 passionate, socially minded and dedicated individuals to join our Advisory Board. These voluntary, unpaid positions will play an integral role in ensuring that the SSE North West continues to engage and empower Social Leaders from across the North of England. .

Advisory Board Member Roles Working in the context of the BHG Group and SSE Central Board agreed strategies, and reporting to the The Chair of the Advisory Board, Members would be responsible for:   Supporting, challenging and extending the reach of SSE NW – leveraging their contacts and networks to enable the school to achieve its goals and grow its work in a sustainable way Acting as an ambassador on behalf of the SSE and BHG promoting our work and the interests of our students and bringing in contacts and resources to help Where requested /agreed- representing the SSE on behalf of the Group To keep up to date with the SSE operating environment and national contract conditions to help ensure BHG and the SSE NW are working as an exemplar in this field

Advisory Board Recruitment These voluntary, unpaid positions will play an integral role in ensuring that the SSE North West continues to engage and empower Social Leaders from across the North of England. In particular we are looking for people from across the North West with expertise and knowledge of:   Social Entrepreneurship Digital Industries Community Business Environmental Issues Health and Social Care We’re also looking for members to have skills and experience in: Marketing and Public Relations Product Development Fundraising and Income Generation Procurement and Commissioning It is anticipated that this role is likely to involve a commitment of time of between 6 and 10 days per year including Attending Advisory Board Meetings on a bi-monthly basis Maintaining contact/offering support to your fellow Advisory Board members Participation in the SSE Network Board Calls Undertaking externally facing activities Participating in development events
