Key Resonances in the 30P(p,γ)31S Gateway Reaction for the Production of Heavy Elements in ONe Novae Why is this important? The 30P(p,γ)31S had been shown to be a gateway reaction for the production of elements heavier than sulfur. Previously the large uncertainties of the reaction rate left the abundances of heavier elements produced by ONe novae with large uncertainties. www.astroart.org www.astrobio.net D. T. Results The uncertainty of the 30P(p,γ)31S reaction rate has been significantly reduced. The rate was shown to increase by up to a factor of 10. Spins and parities have been assigned to levels of interest.
