NASA Clouds Citizen Science Featured in NSTA Science Scope The September 2018 issue of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) magazine for middle school teachers, Science Scope includes an article on NASA GLOBE Observer (GO) Clouds project: Cloudy with a chance of “cirrus” science. Each issue of Science Scope includes an in-depth article featuring a citizen science project and highlights formal and informal science research projects that students can join and contribute to by gathering and sharing data. This series is the results of a collaboration between SciStarter and NSTA. Science Scope has a circulation of 15,000 plus pass-along estimated at 2.5, reaching an additional 45,000, which includes science departments and school libraries, and available online. (Source: NSTA - Ken Roberts, Editor, Science Scope) NASA GO Clouds combines cloud and sky observations from the ground, and compares the citizen science ground data with NASA satellite instrument cloud data. GLOBE Clouds is lead by a team at NASA Langley Research Center. GO Clouds is part of the NASA SMD SciAct project – The NASA Earth Science Education Collaborative (NESEC).
