Primary Newsletter – Friday 5th October 2018 RECEPTION 2019 OPEN MORNINGS If you have a child born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015, your child will be starting school (reception class) in September 2019. Applications opened on 1st September 2018 and close on Tuesday 5th January 2019. On Wednesday 10th October we are holding our first primary open morning, where families are invited into school to have a talk about what we offer and have personal tours of the primary phase including our reception classes. We will also be offering support and advice on the application process if any families need help with this. If you can’t make this date, please contact the main reception to organise a personal tour at your convenience. PHONICS WORKSHOPS Many thanks for those parents who attended the two phonics workshops this week. We really do hope you found them useful. We are always open to suggestions of new workshops to offer parents, so if there is anything that you would like help with, please contact us with your thoughts and ideas. NSPCC FUNDRAISING Many thanks to those families who have sent back their sponsorship forms for the NSPCC fundraiser. We completed this today, and the children did really well. If you still have sponsorships forms at home, it is not too late. Please return these to your child’s class teacher by Wednesday 10th October at the latest. MACMILLAN FUNDRAISING As stated in the newsletter last week, the Macmillan coffee morning was a great success. I am pleased to share with you that we raised a total of £290.48 KINDNESS– QUOTE OF THE WEEK "Constant kindness can accomplish much.
