Medical Story-boarding
A family of five was involved in a head-on collision – mother, father and three children.
The car that struck them was driven by a twenty-one year old female who had been intoxicated.
The mother sustained minor injuries apposed to what could have been the result of a head on collision. She had a laceration on her forehead from hitting the dash board that needed suturing, a displaced fracture of her tibia from the extra pressure she was putting on it when the accident occurred, facial abrasions from the air bag.
She was checked for internal bleeding as well and luckily, there was none.
The father, David, had a series of multiple wounds, including losing a lot of blood orally. This caused severe nausea and vomiting for the patient. He had lingual bleeding.
