Britton’s and Wilson’s BREAKING NEWSletter February 27th – March 3rd ELA: We are continuing our wondering and questioning unit. The text we are reading this week in class is an article titled Polar Bears in Peril. We are continuing our expository nonfiction unit in writing. Vocabulary: Struggle: try very hard to do something. Skill: the ability to do something well. Skillful: good at doing something. Opportunity: a chance to do something. Generally: usually or almost always. Decline: get smaller or worse. Math: Our math skill this week is measuring an inch, half inch, three fourths, and fourth of an inch. We will also learn how to make and read a line plot and how to answer questions from the data that is used. Announcements This week is Dr. Seuss week: Monday – Mixed up Monday, Tuesday -Top Hat Tuesday, Wednesday – Wacky Wednesday, Thursday – Theodore Thursday, Friday – Funny Food Friday Yearbooks are on sale until March 1st. That is the last day they will be sold. Fundraiser is from 2/21-3/7. Join Remind by texting @rm8squad to 81010. This is how we send out reminders/announcements. I can statements: I can tell time to the last minute and calculate intervals of time. I can visualize from a passage. I can ask and answer questions about a passage. I can reread for information. I can recognize a pronoun. Test Dates: 4thFact Fluency test for this 9 weeks is Mar. 3rd Math Assessment Mar. 3rd ELA: Week 23/24 Vocabulary test on March 3rd Please encourage your child to practice skills on mobymax.com as much as possible! Math Homework Mon. – Review Skills Worksheet Tues.- Review Skills Worksheet Wed.- Review Skills Worksheet Thurs. – Go over study guide for tomorrow’s assessment and Fact Fluency test is also tomorrow. Be sure to encourage your child to read each night. They should be reading at least 20 minutes. Ask your child about what they are reading and what is happening in their book. They love to share their reading knowledge with you! ELA Homework Packet due THURSDAY  .
