Our Vision, Values and Behaviours 2015 We have heightened expectations that through “Learning and Courtesy” we can all be: Happy and successful learners in an inclusive school Our values: Fairness Perseverance Honesty Tolerance Trust Resilience Ambition Participation Our behaviours: Respect for People: we will consider the health, safety and well being of ourselves and others Respect for Learning: we will be on time, on task, trying our best and achieving success Respect for Community: we will have a positive impact in school, locally and in the wider world 1

Reviewing our Vision etc in 2018 In Spring 2015 we developed our current vision, values and behaviours in consultation with pupils, parents and staff At the time we said we would re-visit the vision etc with people every 3 years This was so that the statements belong to the current group of pupils, parents and staff Our vision should be short, ambitious and memorable it should aim high and set out our shared direction Our values should also be memorable – they describe the things that really matter for us to reach our vision Our behaviour statements set out how we will act in order to uphold our values and achieve our vision 2

We will uphold our/their dignity, health, safety and well being Respect for Learning: We will participate in learning by; being on time and on task. We will try our best by contributing and behaving in and out of class Respect for Community: We will have a positive impact in school, in our local community and in the wider world. We will support people, look after property and protect the environment 3

Developing our Vision etc 2018 The notes give our current vision etc, explain the context and suggests one alternative. But we want to involve pupils, parents and staff in creating the vision etc for 2018 – 2021 A set of blank boxes is attached for you to share your ideas and we will take these to: Pupils through focus groups, pupil representatives and the pupil forum/senate Parents through focus groups and the parent council/forum Staff through staff meetings and representatives A revised vision will be jointly agreed by the school governance group which includes pupils, parents and staff representatives Consultation will run until mid March and the new vision etc will be ready for June 2018 (and due for revision in Spring 2021)! 4
