Remember Headings MAIN HEADINGS Secondary Headings Start text here, right below the secondary heading. Subtopics: Then start text in the same line.

Remember Paragraph Structure Start all but very short paragraphs with topic sentences. Focus on one main idea at a time in each paragraph. Use bullets or numbers for lists within paragraphs.

Remember Your Sources Your paragraphs should be a mix of your ideas and those of your sources. Don’t save all of your source material for its own section(s). Use parenthetical citation in either MLA or APA format. Try placing your source material in boldface for the rough draft to help you remember to document it or check documentation.

Remember Visuals If you include visuals, refer to them first in the text and place them as near that reference as possible Give each visual a title and, if there is more than one, a number Document any visual that is from a source

Remember the Bibliography Include a Works Cited page (MLA format) or References page (APA format) that lists your sources. Follow the correct format for listing each type of source.
